This weekend, delegates from the Graduate Orientation Program (GOP) for the 2024 and 2025 cohorts gathered for their second bi-monthly retreat. The retreat aimed to strengthen unity, leadership, teamwork, and spiritual growth, equipping young Christian leaders to serve effectively in ministry.

Day 1: Meditation and Teachings on Identity in Christ

The retreat began at 10:00 AM with a time of meditation on Romans 8, focusing on the believer’s identity in Christ and the Trinitarian relationship between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in mission.

Key teachings and workshops included:

 

    1. Our Identity Among the Lost  Exploring practical ways to live missionally and apply biblical principles of love and service.

    1. Alignment with God’s and Navigators’ Vision – Helping delegates align personal and ministry goals with the broader mission vision.

The day concluded with reflection on implementing these principles in everyday ministry.

Day 2: Leadership, Teamwork, and Personal Development

The second day began at 10:00 AM with a meditation on Exodus 18:13-27, focusing on Moses’ leadership and the importance of delegation in ministry teams.

Lesson 1: Teamwork

 

    • Biblical foundations: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, showing that God designed us to function as a team.

    • Key motivations: diversity of gifts, mutual support, and shared mission.

    • Biblical examples: Jesus and His disciples, Paul and his collaborators.

    • Essential elements of a strong team: transparency, accountability, forgiveness, humility, service, and acceptance.

Lesson 2: Personal Development

 

    • Delegates shared personal and spiritual progress.

    • Resolutions focused on maintaining regular fellowship, strengthening individual and collective engagement, and promoting spiritual and character growth.

The day emphasized combining leadership, teamwork, and personal responsibility to prepare delegates to serve more effectively in ministry.
